Shaw Group is seeking an analytical and detail-oriented critical thinker to join their Investment Management group as a portfolio management and implementation associate. This role involves managing investment portfolios and collaborating with various teams to ensure alignment with investment objectives.ResponsibilitiesPartner closely with quantitative researchers to support day-to-day portfolio management and investment operationsManage and oversee the implementation of investment portfolios, ensuring execution aligns with both investor-directed and internal objectives and guidelinesWork on ad hoc and bespoke projects, such as analyzing the impact of proposed changes to portfolio optimizationSolve analytical problems related to trading and portfolio implementation, ranging from small-scale to complex challengesImprove and automate systems and processes involved in daily portfolio management activitiesParticipate in the implementation of new strategies, funds, and separately managed accountsCollaborate with a broad range of teams—including technology, trading, portfolio strategy, and business operations—as well as colleagues across finance, corporate development, legal and compliance, and other firmwide functionsSkillsA bachelor's degree; an advanced degree is a plusOne to four years of finance-related experience in a comparable role is preferredKeen attention to detail, excellent written communication skills, and demonstrated analytical and math skillsComfort experimenting with and applying generative AI toolsProficiency in Python programming and debugging, preferably including writing code to implement complex mathematical models and computationsA willingness to learn and the ability to effectively manage short-term and long-term priorities in a fast-paced environmentBenefitsVariable compensation in the form of a year-end bonusMedical and prescription drug coverage401(k) contribution matchingWellness reimbursementFamily building benefitsCharitable gift match programCompany OverviewThe D.
