[Remote] Design Engineer I (REMOTE)

The Design Engineer I will provide design support for defined portions of larger projects, working on aircraft structural layouts and the design of components, assemblies, and installations under supervision. Responsibilities Applies standard engineering practices and techniques, including innovative methodologies, to provide effective solutions to problems involving a limited number of variables Normally focuses on existing products and processes Possesses the ability to research and develop limited structural engineering layouts Able to create conceptual layouts and design of components, assemblies and installations Must be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a specified engineering field Basic to intermediate knowledge utilizing CATIA V5 engineering design software Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situation or data requires a review of identifiable factors Provides creativity and latitude when necessary Performs other duties as required Skills Requires a BSME, BSCE, BSAE, or a Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field Minimum of 0-4 years of experience in the Aerospace Industry or in a related field Basic to intermediate knowledge utilizing CATIA V5 engineering design software Possesses the ability to research and develop limited structural engineering layouts Able to create conceptual layouts and design of components, assemblies and installations Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situation or data requires a review of identifiable factors Applies standard engineering practices and techniques, including innovative methodologies, to provide effective solutions to problems involving a limited number of variables Normally focuses on existing products and processes Performs other duties as required Working knowledge of CATIA V5, Solidworks, or other 3D design software preferred Basic knowledge of MS Office products Benefits 401(k) retirement savings plan with a percentage company-match contribution Competitive wages Paid holidays Paid time off Medical, dental, vision, life, and accidental insurance Short-term disability Long-term disability Employee assistance plan — for access to counseling, consulting and other community resources Wellness program Tuition assistance Company Overview Sonaca North America is driven by a passion for innovation and a commitment to excellence.
