They are seeking a Data Analytics Engineer to focus on data preparation and front-end business intelligence, responsible for writing transformation queries and implementing operational dashboards.ResponsibilitiesClean, aggregate, and structure raw operational data related to schools, colleges, and corporate partnersDesign, develop, and maintain high-performing dashboards and visual reports using our standard toolset (Looker for now) to identify key trends and patternsWrite clean, optimized SQL queries and manage database view configurations to ensure frontend reporting sheets refresh smoothly, rapidly, and accuratelyPartner with team members to gather operational requirements, translate complex tracking metrics into intuitive layouts, and help drive data-backed organizational decisionsImplement rigorous validation checks to ensure dashboard numbers consistently align with actual system recordsContribute to internal documentation detailing data processing procedures to maintain team-wide consistencySkillsMinimum six-month commitment of approximately six flexible hours per week$100 refundable deposit, returned after six months of active membership (K–12 educators, retirees, veterans, interns, and students are exempt from the deposit)Clean, aggregate, and structure raw operational data related to schools, colleges, and corporate partnersConsume data from tables managed by the Data Integration team and use SQL or data prep tools to turn them into optimized views for reportingDesign, develop, and maintain high-performing dashboards and visual reports using LookerWrite clean, optimized SQL queries and manage database view configurationsPartner with team members to gather operational requirements and translate complex tracking metrics into intuitive layoutsImplement rigorous validation checks to ensure dashboard numbers consistently align with actual system recordsContribute to internal documentation detailing data processing proceduresA genuine passion for educational equity, youth development, and contributing to closing the gender gap in STEM fieldsSolid proficiency in relational databases and visual analytics platforms (specifically MySQL and Looker Studio)Strong mastery of writing, optimization, and troubleshooting of complex SQL queriesFamiliarity with Python or R for data analysis is advantageousA strong analytical mindset with the ability to work effectively in a team environmentComfortable navigating and utilizing Jira for task tracking and Google Workspace for documentation and collaborationBachelor's degree in a quantitative field (Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline) or equivalent practical professional experiencePrior experience with structured data research or data documentationBenefitsA $100 refundable deposit, returned after six months of active membershipK–12 educators, retirees, veterans, interns, and students are exempt from the depositMinimum six-month commitment of approximately six flexible hours per weekCompany OverviewJerseySTEM provides stem oriented educational opportunities.
