[Remote] Data Security Consultant
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Diverse Lynx is seeking a Data Security Consultant to support their Data Protection & Data Governance program. The role involves planning and executing safe data exception migration and Microsoft sensitivity labeling for files and email content, along with providing configuration guidance and ensuring compliance during the transfer of sensitive assets.ResponsibilitiesReview and update the existing SOW, roadmap, and detailed project plan; document and communicate any scope or schedule changesKick off and coordinate separation and transfer activities related to Microsoft sensitivity labeling and associated enforcement policiesIdentify, copy, and catalogue Safe Data Program artifacts (SOPs, knowledge articles, ITForMe content) required for NewCo operationsWork with IAM to create/configure Safe Data exception groups for USB, fileshare, and webmail use cases in NewCoCoordinate with ServiceNow to replicate and automate exception intake (individual and bulk), and integrate the intake process with IAM workflowsProduce a Safe Data Exception inventory that identifies inâscope users and maps migration needs for USB, fileshare, and webmail exceptionsCollaborate with Security Engineering and End User Services (EUS) to define the recommended methodology for configuring and migrating Microsoft sensitivity labels and enforcement policies (subject to Microsoft technical decisions)Deliver detailed project artifacts: workstream project plans, timelines, storyboards, stepâbyâstep runbooks, FAQs, and training materials for operational teamsProduce regular status reporting (monthly and quarterly), capture stakeholder feedback, and highlight milestones, risks, issues, and opportunitiesProvide ongoing Data Security consultation and subjectâmatter expert support throughout the engagementSkillsBachelor's degree in IT, Cybersecurity, Privacy, Law, or a related field, or equivalent practical experienceStrong experience in data protection, privacy, or security, with handsâon experience in secured data protection and sensitivity labelingPractical experience with Microsoft sensitivity labeling technologies (e.g., MS Purview) and endpoint/data protection toolingStrong analytical skills and clear written and verbal communicationDemonstrated ability to work across IAM, ServiceNow, Security Engineering, and EUS teamsKnowledge of regional data protection considerations relevant to the projectCommitment to confidentiality and adherence to NDAsBenefitsW2 optionCompany OverviewDiverse Lynx is a WBENC- and NMSDC-certified partner, helping organizations turn diversity goals into measurable impact through staffing and contingent workforce solutions.
