[Remote] Data Analyst

The Data Analyst will conduct impactful data analyses for child welfare system leaders, prepare reports and visualizations, and collaborate with colleagues and external partners to provide actionable insights based on data findings.ResponsibilitiesConduct and deliver impactful data analyses to child welfare system leaders, including state directors, NGO executives, and program staffPrepare written reports, decks, and related documentation that translate analytical findings into actionable recommendations for program and policy improvementConduct literature reviews, informational interviews, and exploratory data analysis to uncover causes of challenges in child welfare systemsTransform complex datasets into analyzable formats using tools like R and PythonWrite transparent and maintainable code using version control systems like GitApply statistical techniques to analyze large datasets and extract meaningful insightsDevelop and present data visualizations utilizing appropriate statistical packagesWork closely with colleagues and external partners to share insights, present findings, and advance solutionsMaintains technical and administrative support for a research projectAnalyzes and maintains data. Conducts literature reviews. Assists with preparation of reports, manuscripts and other documentsPerforms other related work as neededSkillsBachelor's or Master's degree in data science, computer science, economics, or similar fieldHands-on experience in data manipulation and analysisExperience in creating data visualizationsExposure to working with large datasets within the context of public policy or social servicesProficiency with RFamiliarity with AWS GovCloudResume (Required)Please submit a 2-3 minute video that helps us get to know you.
