Job Overview:
We are actively seeking a CPA with 5+ years of experience and an active license to join our Trusts & Estates division. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estate, gift, and fiduciary tax compliance, with direct experience preparing and reviewing Forms 706, 709, 1041, and CA Form 541. This position requires exceptional analytical skills, accuracy, and the ability to manage trust funding and allocation. Candidates with experience in law firms, trust companies, or private client service groups are strongly encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
• Tax Compliance: Prepare and review IRS Forms 706 (Estate Tax), 709 (Gift Tax), 1041 (Fiduciary Income Tax), and CA Form 541.
• Trust Accounting & Allocation: Oversee trust funding, asset allocation, and ensure compliance with trust documents.
• Client Collaboration: Work directly with attorneys, fiduciaries, and clients to gather tax-related documents and finalize filings.
• Advisory Support: Assist with estate and gift tax planning strategy execution and documentation.
• Cross-Team Coordination: Liaise with legal teams, financial advisors, and third-party tax professionals to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Documentation & Filing: Maintain accurate records and ensure timely submission of all filings to IRS and FTB.
Qualifications & Skills:
• Licensure: Active CPA license required (California preferred).
• Experience: 5+ years of CPA experience focused on estate, gift, and fiduciary taxation.
• Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of Forms 706, 709, 1041, and 541.
• Software Proficiency: Comfortable using Microsoft Office and tax software (e.g., CCH Axcess, Lacerte, or similar).
• Detail-Oriented: High accuracy and ability to manage multiple filings and deadlines.
• Preferred Background: Candidates from law firms, cpa firm, trust companies, or private client groups are ideal.
