[Remote] Controller & Director of Accounting

The Controller & Director of Accounting is responsible for overseeing the entire accounting function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and the development of accounting policies while managing the accounting team to support the company's strategic objectives.ResponsibilitiesLead and manage the accounting department, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and financial reporting functionsDevelop, implement, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirementsPrepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for accuracy and completenessLead the design and continuous improvement of financial workflows, with a focus on reducing month-end close timelines and automating manual data entry processesCoordinate and oversee external audits and tax filings, working closely with auditors and tax advisors to ensure timely and accurate submissionsProvide financial analysis and insights to senior management to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning initiativesManage cash flow, working capital, and financial risk to optimize the company’s financial positionEnsure the accounting team is trained, motivated, and aligned with organizational goals and compliance standardsStay current with changes in accounting regulations and best practices to continuously improve financial processesSkillsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related fieldCPA license requiredMinimum of 8 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory roleStrong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standardsProficiency with accounting software and ERP systemsProven experience in a small to mid-size organizationExperience with commission automation softwareWorking knowledge of NetSuite requiredSalesforce or comparable CRM for sales data reconciliationExperience with Bill.com, Captivate, Stripe, and MaxioExposure to private equity or investor-backed environmentsM&A integration or system implementation experienceAdvanced skills in financial modeling and data analysis toolsExperience leading cross-functional teams and managing change in dynamic environmentsBenefitsAnnual Performance Bonus: 30% of base salary, tied to company and individual goalsMedical, Dental, Vision401K with 4% company matchUnlimited PTOCompany OverviewFounded in 2014, Snap!
