Government Guaranteed Lending Liaison

Summary:
• Hanover Bank is looking for a full-time Government Guaranteed Lending Liaison.
• The position reports directly to the Government Guaranteed Lending Manager.
• The role involves liaising between the customer, Business Development Officer, and Broker while preparing loan files for underwriting and SBA submission.
• The Government Guaranteed Lending Liaison ensures that all necessary items for underwriting and submission are received, reviewed, and uploaded to the bank’s internal system.

Responsibilities:
• Works with Loan Officers/BDOs and Underwriting Department to coordinate SBA loan packaging/origination in conformance with the SBA SOP.
• Makes recommendations for procedural changes to increase efficiency.
• Ensures customer privacy, file security, and appropriate staff access.
• Attends periodic SBA training and completes ABA training requirements.
• Supports customer/broker/borrower with collecting documentation.
• Prepares and sends specific checklists based on loan types.
• Orders third-party reports such as appraisals, business valuations, and IRS tax verification.
• Performs due diligence including Lexis Nexis, SAM, CAIVRS, OFAC, and flood determinations.
• Reviews documents for accuracy and requests updates as necessary.
• Prepares term sheets and collects good faith deposits.
• Manages loan file workflow to ensure proper steps and effective pipeline management.
• Works with Government Guaranteed Lending Assistant to ensure items are ready for SBA submission.
• Works with closers to collect documentation when needed.

Requirements:
• Minimum 2 years of SBA origination experience for commercial loans.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of USDA, SBA 7a, 504, and Express Lines of Credit.
• Knowledge of SBA Standard Operating Procedures.
• Ability to promote a teamwork environment and solve problems independently.
• Effective communication with brokers, borrowers, SBA GGLS Team, and underwriters.
