[Remote] Computer Aided Design Designer

The Judge Group is seeking a highly skilled CAD Drafter/Designer with expertise in Creo and Windchill to support the design and development of critical engineering systems. This role involves creating 3D models and detailed drawings for umbilical systems, ground support equipment, and launch pad structures while ensuring compliance with industry standards.ResponsibilitiesDevelop, modify, and maintain 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings using CreoCreate complex assemblies including mechanical systems, routing components, and structural frameworkEnsure designs meet internal modeling conventions and best practicesDesign and release umbilical assemblies, routing hardware, and retraction/release mechanismsDefine system interfaces with vehicles, payloads, and ground support systemsDevelop documentation such as connector pinouts and fluid line schematicsDesign and release test fixtures, stands, and instrumentation support hardwareDefine mechanical, electrical, and fluid interfaces for units under testDevelop models and drawings for launch pad structures and associated systemsDocument interfaces between ground infrastructure and vehicle systemsCreate designs for lifting fixtures, transport frames, handling rings, and rigging systemsDefine load paths, lifting points, and operational requirementsGenerate detailed manufacturing and assembly drawings per ASME Y14.5 (GD&T) standardsApply proper dimensioning, tolerancing, and annotation practicesEnsure drawings meet manufacturing, inspection, and quality requirementsManage product data within Windchill (or similar PLM tools)Execute Configuration Notices (CN) / Engineering Change processesTake designs from concept → modeling → review → release → revision controlMaintain traceability and revision history for all design artifactsWork with design engineers, stress analysts, and manufacturing teamsSupport design reviews, model checks, and validation activitiesIncorporate feedback from analysis and testing into design updatesSkillsAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in: Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Drafting/Design or equivalent experienceStrong proficiency in: Creo (Pro/ENGINEER) – parts, assemblies, drawingsWindchill or similar PLM systemsGD&T and ASME Y14.5 standardsExperience with: Complex assemblies and large CAD modelsEngineering change and configuration management processesManufacturing drawing creation and detailingExperience with NASA MSFC standards or aerospace modeling conventionsKnowledge of: Fluid systems and schematicsElectrical connector pinoutsInterface definition documentationPrior work on: Ground support equipment, Launch infrastructure, Tooling or handling systemsExperience with: Cross-organization data exchange and model translationCompany OverviewResults through the Power of Experience.
