The role involves shaping investment strategy, mentoring junior professionals, and driving financial excellence in a fast-growing sector.ResponsibilitiesLead the financial underwriting of renewable energy projects, including solar and storage assetsDevelop, refine, and maintain complex financial models to assess investment viability, risk, and return profilesCollaborate with cross-functional teams (development, legal, engineering) to ensure accurate inputs and assumptionsProvide financial modeling and strategic input for Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) RFP responses for development-stage assetsCollaborate with development, legal, and commercial teams to align financial assumptions with project strategy and market dynamicsSupport M&A activities including target evaluation, financial due diligence, and integration planningDevelop valuation models and investment memos for acquisition opportunities in the renewable energy spaceBuild and manage detailed project finance models incorporating tax equity, debt structures, and cash flow waterfallsConduct sensitivity analyses, scenario planning, and valuation assessments to support investment decisionsTrain, mentor, and oversee junior investment professionals in financial modeling, underwriting standards, and best practicesEstablish and document underwriting guidelines and model templates to ensure consistency and qualitySupport senior leadership in deal structuring, investor presentations, and capital raising effortsMonitor market trends, regulatory changes, and financial innovations impacting renewable energy investmentsSkillsBachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field; MBA or CFA preferredMinimum 5 years of experience in financial modeling and underwriting for renewable energy investments in the U.SDeep understanding of project finance, tax equity structures, and renewable energy market dynamicsAdvanced proficiency in Excel; experience with VBA, Python, or financial modeling software is a plusStrong communication and leadership skills, with a passion for mentoring and team developmentOrganized and process drivenMBA or CFA preferredExperience with VBA, Python, or financial modeling software is a plusCompany OverviewStrata Clean Energy is a solar storage developer.
