[Remote] Collections Analyst (NA)

The Collections Analyst will manage customer collections, resolve issues, and ensure accurate financial statements while interacting with various internal teams and customers.ResponsibilitiesInteract daily with Trinseo customers for payment information on all due and near due invoices to collect revenuesInvestigate and resolve issues raised by Trinseo customers, including coordination with other Trinseo functions (i.e. Customer Service Representatives, Account Managers, Plants)Research and resolve customer payment discrepancies and determine corrective actions required to eliminate future defectsManage customer account reconciliations to deliver accurate financial statementsEscalate collections issues to the appropriate partyMonitor delinquent accounts and coordinate with customers to obtain outstanding paymentsAnalyze customer payment behavior against terms and work with customer and internal business parties to improve timeliness of paymentsProcess and post sales adjustments / deductions in SAP according to business standards/agreements and validates adjustments meet internal control compliancePromptly respond to information requests from stakeholdersAchieve deadlines set by leadership and the business and proactively monitor and raise instances where deadlines cannot be met in a timely fashionActively manage workload and escalate inefficiencies and concerns to the Collections Manager and Credit ManagerFunction as a member of a team, demonstrating effective teamwork and relationship buildingExperience in dealing with international customers and currencies desirableSkillsBachelor's degree in Finance / Accounting (or local equivalent) is required3+ years Accounts Receivable/Collections or related experience, preferably in a Global Service Center environmentWorking knowledge of financial and accounting ERP systemsKnowledge of Collections & Accounts Receivable processes and principlesStrong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with employees, supervisors and customersDetail-orientedAble to work independently and manage conflicting prioritiesKnowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Read, write and speak English & 1 additional language.
