[Remote] Collection Management Specialist

The Collection Management Specialist I is responsible for curating print and eBook collections, utilizing both traditional librarian methods and advanced analytics to ensure high-quality offerings that meet customer needs.ResponsibilitiesProvide experience gained of current librarian workflows to create and maintain subject-based and market-focused eBook products to ensure that collections are high quality, relevant to customer needs, and competitiveUse Excel and other Office tools for most workIdentify new book product opportunities based on library experience, market research, customer surveys, and focus groupsEvaluate publisher content and offerings to help identify and target needed book content and coordinate with the Publisher Relations department to initiate publisher onboarding initiativesSkills0-2 years of experience with current librarian workflows and trends, and have done content selection for one or more subjectsExperience with the theory and practice of collection development and management, including researching subjects and products, assessing and evaluating products and collectionsUnderstanding different audiences and market needs and knowing relevant, high-value book content for diverse markets and territoriesExtremely detail-oriented with an ability to think critically and analyze data as it relates to market position, products, and collectionsProvide experience gained of current librarian workflows to create and maintain subject-based and market-focused eBook products to ensure that collections are high quality, relevant to customer needs, and competitiveUse Excel and other Office tools for most workIdentify new book product opportunities based on library experience, market research, customer surveys, and focus groupsEvaluate publisher content and offerings to help identify and target needed book content and coordinate with the Publisher Relations department to initiate publisher onboarding initiativesHave prior knowledge of academic publishers and contentMaster's of Library Science or equivalent degree from an ALA-accredited institutionComfortable working in a remote environmentCompany OverviewAt EBSCO Information Services, we hire great people and let them thrive.
