[Remote] Cloud Security Engineer (Pre-Award)

They are seeking a Cloud Security Engineer to modernize and secure USSOUTHCOM’s Enhanced Domain Awareness ecosystem by designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud security controls across Azure and AWS environments.ResponsibilitiesImplement and maintain cloud security controls within AWS and Microsoft Azure environmentsEnsure compliance with NIST 800-53 Rev. 5, FedRAMP, and DoD IL 2, IL 4, and IL 5 security requirementsDesign and administer Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions and privileged access controlsSupport implementation of Zero Trust security architectures and security automation initiativesConduct vulnerability assessments, risk analyses, and remediation activities across cloud platformsConfigure and manage cloud-native security monitoring and logging capabilitiesIntegrate security controls into DevSecOps and CI/CD workflowsSupport accreditation, audit preparation, and cybersecurity compliance reporting activitiesCollaborate with system engineers, developers, and data architects to ensure secure solution designProvide technical recommendations to improve the overall security posture of the EDA environmentSkillsBachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, Computer Science, or related fieldFive (5) years of equivalent professional experience may be substituted for a degreeDemonstrated experience implementing cloud security frameworks and controlsExperience configuring and administering IAM solutions in AWS and/or Azure environmentsExperience conducting vulnerability assessments and security compliance reviewsExperience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platformsExperience implementing or supporting Zero Trust architecturesExperience with cloud security monitoring, incident detection, and response activitiesAbility to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearanceCISSP certificationAWS Certified Security – SpecialtyMicrosoft Security, Compliance, and Identity certificationsExperience supporting Combatant Commands, Joint Staff, Intelligence Community, or Department of Defense organizationsExperience operating in classified and mission-critical environmentsFamiliarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) security practicesCompany OverviewBarbaricum is a government relations company that offers strategic communications, research, and analysis solutions.
