[Remote] Cloud Engineer

Optomi, in partnership with a leading enterprise organization, is seeking a Senior Enterprise Cloud Engineer to join a collaborative cloud engineering team focused on expanding and maturing their AWS environment. This individual will serve as a senior technical resource responsible for cloud architecture, automation, governance, Infrastructure as Code, and operational best practices.ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, and support secure, scalable AWS cloud environmentsEstablish and maintain cloud governance standards including AWS Organizations, Control Tower, IAM strategy, account structure, security guardrails, and budget managementDevelop and maintain Terraform modules, Infrastructure as Code standards, and deployment automation frameworksBuild automation and self-service capabilities that enable development teams to deploy and manage cloud resources efficientlyDesign and support CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling using GitHub and modern automation practicesEvaluate cloud application requirements and provide architectural recommendations for cloud-native and hybrid solutionsCollaborate with development teams to support microservices, application modernization, and cloud adoption initiativesDevelop repeatable automation solutions using PowerShell and Infrastructure as Code principlesReview existing cloud environments and recommend improvements around security, reliability, scalability, and operational efficiencySkills5+ years of experience in Cloud Engineering, Cloud Architecture, DevOps, or Infrastructure Engineering rolesStrong hands-on experience designing, deploying, and supporting AWS environments in productionExperience establishing or maturing AWS environments, including governance frameworks, security controls, automation, and operational best practicesStrong Infrastructure as Code experience utilizing Terraform, including reusable modules and deployment standardsExperience with AWS Organizations, Control Tower, IAM, account management, budget controls, and cloud governancePowerShell scripting experience for automation and operational efficienciesExperience with GitHub and Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) practices including branching strategies, pull requests, code reviews, and CI/CD pipelinesExperience supporting cloud-native applications, microservices, and modern deployment methodologiesCompany OverviewOPTOMI is an IT staffing firm that serves its consultants, clients, and employees through its consultant-focused approach.
