The Business Development Manager is responsible for selling Teaching Strategies' solutions to the early childhood public markets, achieving revenue goals, and building long-term customer partnerships.ResponsibilitiesDevelops territory plan designed to build diversified and meaningful pipeline and to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue goalsAchieves monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue goals for the assigned territoryBuilds, maintains, and develops knowledge to become an expert on Teaching Strategies' solutions as well as the competitive landscape for early childhood developmentResponsible for the full cycle of the sales process; balances time effectively with the right mix of prospecting, planning, presenting, negotiating, and closingAccurately manages sales pipeline in Salesforce.com while providing sales opportunities to reflect product, dollar amount and estimated close datesUtilizes Salesforce.com to track all sales activity and customer/prospect correspondence for given territoryProvides monthly forecast and sales projections to Sales Team DirectorMaintains existing relationships with customers and channels customer feedback appropriatelyHosts online presentations and demonstrations as well as face-to-face meetingsCommunicates on a regular scheduled basis with major clients within the territory; timely follow up to all phone and email communications regarding potential sales opportunitiesRepresents Teaching Strategies at exhibits, conferences, events in territoryIncreases market leadership capacity and ensures the development of long-term customer partnershipsWorks across departments to establish shared goals and cross-functional initiatives in support of sales and company prioritiesSkillsMust reside in Iowa or Wisconsin6-8 years of sales experience, specifically in early childhood education or K-12, working with programs in TexasTrack record of success selling digital, print, assessment, and professional development education solutionsMastery of successful selling skills and techniquesExperience performing market analysis and building/managing a diverse and balanced sales pipelineKnowledge of educational structures and ability to sell to multiple decision makers at multiple levelsExperience with Salesforce or another CRM solution is highly desiredUnderstanding of the variety of funding sources customers can use to purchase product, staff development and assessmentDemonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships at the executive levelAbility to travel up to 50% with seasonal variationsPrior experience in the education field (e.g., classroom teacher)BenefitsCompetitive compensation packageEmployee Equity Appreciation ProgramHealth and wellness insurance benefits401k with employer matchFlexible work environmentUnlimited paid time off (which includes paid holidays and Winter Break)Paid parental leaveTuition assistance, professional development, and opportunities for career growthBest in class technology equipment for every employeePenthouse suite in downtown DC seconds away from Washington Nationals Stadium and Audi FieldCompany OverviewTeaching Strategies is a dynamic early childhood education company.
