The Business Development Manager is responsible for selling and supporting distribution customers, identifying target accounts, and driving profitable new business growth while cultivating customer relationships.ResponsibilitiesSell and support existing and new distribution customersSell and support subassembly customers through distributionAssist customers with product evaluations and specificationsPrioritize opportunities to maximize sales and margin potentialDevelop and execute sales plans to drive business growthIdentify and resolve customer pain points with tailored solutionsMonitor market trends and competition; provide insights on new product opportunitiesProvide regular updates on progress and results to managementProvide technical support and training to end users and distributorsConduct detailed plant visits and reinforce the value proposition of our productsBuild and maintain strong relationships with key accountsObtain specifications and approvals from engineering firms and major accountsManage travel and entertainment expenses to budgetParticipate in market/channel projects to support overall business strategyCapture and report customer complaints and ensure corrective action is takenCommunicate effectively with internal and external stakeholdersProvide product training and sales direction to distributorsWork closely with internal teams to meet customer needs and optimize products and servicesKeep current with internal and external training and developmentManage distribution channels to maximize IPSA market shareMaintain comprehensive knowledge of products, applications, and competitive activitySkillsBachelor's degree or equivalent experienceMinimum 5 years of sales experience in a similar marketProven track record of high performance in a growth-oriented businessStrong business acumen, negotiation, decision-making, and critical thinking skillsAbility to effectively communicate in English (verbal and written) requiredAbility to follow written and oral procedures and instructionsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)Experience calling on end users, distributors/channels and pulling business through to the market via channelsTrack record of superior performance in high growth businessAbility to understand and sell technical productsHigh level of business acumen. Demonstrated negotiation skills, decision making ability, and critical thinking skillsExcellent oral and written communication skillsCustomer-focused with a positive attitudePrevious experience in Technical Sales or Business Development, preferably in Structural Adhesives or CompositesOrganized, results-driven, and able to work collaboratively to meet deadlinesThis position may require up to 70% travel.
