[Remote] Business Analyst

LTS is seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Business Analyst to support a major modernization initiative within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) health portfolio. This role involves business process analysis, requirements gathering, and stakeholder engagement to support modernization efforts in healthcare systems and enterprise transformation initiatives for Veteran healthcare services nationwide.ResponsibilitiesElicit, analyze, document, and validate business, functional, and technical requirements for VA modernization initiativesConduct stakeholder interviews, workflow analyses, gap assessments, and facilitated working sessionsTranslate business needs into user stories, epics, process flows, requirements documentation, and acceptance criteriaSupport modernization efforts involving legacy VistA/MUMPS-based healthcare systems and enterprise applicationsCollaborate with technical teams, architects, product owners, and project managers to ensure alignment between business objectives and technical solutionsAnalyze current-state and future-state business processes to identify opportunities for modernization and operational improvementSupport Agile delivery activities including backlog refinement, sprint planning, user acceptance testing (UAT), and release validationAssist with healthcare workflow analysis, interoperability requirements, and system integration initiativesDevelop and maintain project documentation including business requirements documents (BRDs), functional specifications, workflow diagrams, meeting minutes, and process documentationSupport change management, training, and stakeholder communication activitiesParticipate in system testing, validation efforts, and issue resolution activitiesEnsure requirements and solutions align with VA policies, operational needs, and federal compliance standardsSkillsBachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, or related discipline5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst supporting enterprise IT or healthcare modernization programsExperience gathering and documenting business and functional requirements for complex systems and applicationsStrong understanding of Agile methodologies and requirements management processesExperience facilitating stakeholder discussions and translating business needs into technical solutionsStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExperience using collaboration and project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, Microsoft Visio, or similar platformsExperience supporting VA healthcare systems including VistA, CPRS, or VA modernization initiativesFamiliarity with MUMPS-based applications and legacy healthcare modernization effortsKnowledge of healthcare interoperability standards including HL7 and FHIRExperience supporting healthcare workflows, clinical operations, or enterprise healthcare systemsFamiliarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC), DevSecOps, and cloud modernization environmentsExperience supporting federal government programs and regulated environmentsCertifications such as Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), PMI-PBA, Scrum certifications, or Agile certifications preferredCompany OverviewLTS is an information technology (IT) provider for mission critical systems.
