[Remote] Bank Accounting and Regulatory Reporting Senior Associate

The Bank Accounting and Regulatory Reporting Senior Associate will prepare accounting records and regulatory filings for Upstart Bank, ensuring accuracy and compliance while collaborating across teams to enhance reporting quality and controls.
Responsibilities
ā¢ Prepare and review certain Bank-specific accounting records
ā¢ Prepare, review, and support the timely submission of regulatory filings, including Call Reports, FR Y-series reports, FDIC filings, and other required regulatory reports
ā¢ Perform reconciliations, validations, and analytical reviews to ensure the completeness and accuracy of reported information
ā¢ Partner with Accounting, Treasury, Risk, Operations, and Data teams to gather, validate, and understand data used in regulatory reporting
ā¢ Partner with Financial Reporting team to support bank-related disclosures included in SEC filings, including regulatory capital, deposits, and liquidity ensuring underlying data, analyses and supporting documents are accurate, complete, and consistent with regulatory requirements
ā¢ Research regulatory reporting instructions and guidance and assist in implementing reporting changes resulting from new products, business activities, or regulatory updates
ā¢ Identify reporting issues, data inconsistencies, and control gaps, and recommend practical solutions to improve reporting quality and efficiency
ā¢ Support regulatory examinations, internal audits, and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to information requests
ā¢ Maintain regulatory reporting procedures, controls documentation, and reporting evidence in accordance with governance requirements
ā¢ Contribute to process improvement and automation initiatives that enhance reporting accuracy, efficiency, and scalability
Skills
ā¢ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
ā¢ 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, regulatory reporting, or a related function within a regulated financial institution
ā¢ Experience preparing, reviewing, or supporting bank regulatory reports, including Call Reports, FR Y-series reports, or similar regulatory filings
ā¢ Experience performing reconciliations, controls, data validation, and analytical review procedures
ā¢ Experience supporting internal audits, external audits, or regulatory examinations
ā¢ Experience working in a bank, fintech with a bank partner, or other regulated financial institution
ā¢ Knowledge of FDIC, Federal Reserve, OCC, and FFIEC reporting requirements and instructions
ā¢ Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and its interaction with regulatory reporting requirements
ā¢ Experience working with regulatory reporting systems, data warehouses, or reporting automation tools
ā¢ Skills in identifying process improvement opportunities and partnering with cross-functional teams to implement solutions
ā¢ CPA or other accounting and financial reporting professional certification
