[Remote] Backend Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Nebulock is an agentic threat hunting platform that autonomously surfaces behaviors from various data sources. As a Backend Engineer, you will own the core systems that form the foundation of Nebulock, focusing on data ingestion, transformation, and search layers to enhance threat hunting and detection workflows.ResponsibilitiesDesign, build, and maintain scalable systems that ingest and process large volumes of security telemetry (TBs / day)Own integrations across a wide range of data sources (EDR, IAM, Cloud, SaaS)Own the transformation layer that turns disparate data into a normalized, enriched, and queryable modelBuild an engine that correlates entities across disparate data sourcesDevelop and operate both real-time and batch processing systemsWork on core search capabilities across vast amounts of dataCollaborate with our internal detection engineers, threat hunters, and product engineers to ensure the Nebulock platform has the data it needs and that the data is structured correctlyHelp drive the architecture and technical direction of Neublock’s platformSkills4+ years of experience building backend distributed systems and working with dataProficiency in Python, Java, Go, Rust, or similarExperience with either AWS or GCPStrong experience with data pipelinesExperience with event-driven systemsStrong understanding of system design, data modeling, and performance trade-offsExperience with OLAP databasesAbility to adapt, iterate, and ship quicklyHunger for growth and the desire to work in a low-ego environmentExperience with streaming data processing engines (i.e. Flink)Experience building or working with search systems over large datasetsCybersecurity experienceStartup experienceBenefitsA dynamic startup environment with opportunities for rapid career growthA collaborative culture that values innovation and creativityCompetitive salary and equity optionsComprehensive benefits package (including 401K)Opportunities to travel for conferences, workshops, and team-building eventsCompany OverviewAI-driven threat hunting platform.
