[Remote] Azure Architect - Azure DevOps
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Fulcrum Technology Solutions is seeking an experienced Azure Architect to support one of their clients through a cloud transformation initiative. The role involves leading the design, architecture, and deployment of enterprise-scale cloud infrastructure and application solutions on Microsoft Azure.
Responsibilities
ā¢ Lead the design, architecture, and deployment of enterprise-scale cloud infrastructure and application solutions on Microsoft Azure
ā¢ Strategize and execute migration of complex, multi-tier applications from on-premises environments to Azure
ā¢ Collaborate with engineering, application, and security teams to define architectural patterns, governance models, and cloud-native best practices
ā¢ Build and manage Azure infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, ARM templates, or Bicep
ā¢ Architect CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar platforms to ensure seamless integration and deployment processes
ā¢ Ensure reliability, scalability, and performance of cloud-based environments, while maintaining compliance and security requirements
ā¢ Provide architectural guidance on Azure services, cost optimization, backup/disaster recovery, and resource governance
ā¢ Evaluate current environments and drive improvements in automation, monitoring, and security posture
ā¢ Document architectural standards, solutions, and operational processes for use across multiple teams
ā¢ Mentor junior engineers and developers on cloud adoption, DevOps principles, and architectural best practices
Skills
ā¢ 8+ years of progressive IT experience, including 3+ years as a cloud architect or in a similar senior Azure-focused role
ā¢ Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert strongly preferred
ā¢ Deep expertise in Azure services, including Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure SQL, Azure Storage, Azure Networking, and Azure Active Directory
ā¢ Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates
ā¢ Strong grasp of DevOps and CI/CD methodologies, with hands-on experience in pipeline automation and release management
ā¢ Proficiency in scripting with PowerShell, Python, or similar for automation and deployment
ā¢ Strong understanding of cloud security, identity and access management, encryption, and compliance frameworks
ā¢ Experience with container orchestration (AKS/Kubernetes, Docker)
ā¢ Excellent communication skills to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
ā¢ Expertise in cloud networking, including virtual networks, subnets, NSGs, load balancers, and VPN gateways
ā¢ Familiarity with hybrid cloud environments and integration with on-premises systems
ā¢ Experience implementing Zero Trust security models and policies in cloud environments
ā¢ Knowledge of multi-cloud architectures (AWS/GCP exposure is a plus but not required)
ā¢ Demonstrated leadership in driving cloud adoption strategies, cost control, and architecture reviews
