[Remote] Associate Underwriter - LAD/Supplemental Health - Remote

They are seeking an Associate Underwriter to underwrite new business accounts for Critical Illness, Accident, and Hospital Indemnity, while collaborating with business partners and contributing to sales and profitability goals. Responsibilities New Business Pricing - review Request for Proposal (RFP) submissions including verifying integrity of census data and plan information and requesting additional information as needed Develop & analyze manual ratings and if applicable, historic premium/claims information via a credibility formula to develop and communicate new business rate recommendations in accordance with pricing targets and level of authority Sales expectations of $1.5 MM per year Renewal Pricing – Underwrite large market inforce customer accounts. Supplemental Health generally up to 5,000 eligible lives) Process sold accounts and renewals following established procedures while managing a book of business Relationships - develop and maintain positive relationships with Symetra sales, field and home office service and actuarial teams Projects and Reporting - participate in projects and training initiatives as assigned Maintain accurate and up to date reporting of assigned presales and renewals Skills College degree or equivalent work experience 0-2 years of cumulative, relevant experience Requires extensive knowledge of duties High school diploma required Employer work visa sponsorship and support are not provided for this role.
