[Remote] AP Business and Personal Finance: Part Time Video and Curriculum Development

Virtual Virginia is an educational organization under the Virginia Department of Education, seeking a Teacher Developer for the AP Business and Personal Finance course. The role involves collaborating with the Curriculum Design & Development team to refine AI-generated course materials, create instructional videos, and ensure alignment with Virginia Standards of Learning.ResponsibilitiesReview and validate AI-generated lessons, activities, and assessments for accuracy, alignment, scaffolding, and appropriatenessIdentify instructional gaps, misconceptions, or areas needing revisionCreate a finalized Scope and Sequence aligned to the Virginia Standards of LearningRevise and refine all AI-generated materials to ensure instructional clarity, accuracy, and engagementRecord one instructional video per lessonFinalize formative assessments, modified assessments, and summative assessmentsEnsure each lesson includes high-quality content, an H5P interactive, practice opportunities, and instructional supportsPrepare all final required course elements, including: Course Syllabus, Course Description, Instructor Guide, Pacing Guides, Completed Scope & Sequence with full standards alignmentSubmit all materials by established deadlines and respond promptly to revision requestsEngage with the VVA Design & Development Specialist for ongoing support, updates, and feedback cyclesParticipate in virtual check-ins or meetings as neededRemain available during Fall 2027 to support the initial instructional implementation of the courseSkillsVA Teaching License: endorsed in a specific content areaRecent teaching experience in the content area, or a related fieldStrong pedagogical knowledge and content expertiseProven ability to meet deadlines and work independentlyExperience developing curriculum or reviewing instructional materialsStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to use technology to develop multimedia instructional materialsStrong video production and editing skillsFamiliarity with Canvas LMSWillingness to engage with AI-supported design processesFamiliarity with the Virtual Virginia online model or successful completion of the Teaching with VVA workshopThree or more years of successful teaching experience in the content areaCurriculum development experience for online coursesExperience teaching online with Virtual Virginia or a similar programExperience creating instructional videosExperience developing interactive content (e.g., H5P) for online learningTraining in Quality Matters (K–12 Rubric or Reviewer Course)Experience reviewing or refining AI-generated instructional materials (preferred but not required)Company OverviewVirtual Virginia is a program of the Virginia Department of Education serving students in Virginia schools by providing flexible options for the diverse educational needs of students and their families.
