[Remote] AI Platform Engineer

The role of the AI Platform Engineer involves owning the infrastructure for client projects, implementing cloud infrastructure, and contributing to application code while ensuring reliability and maintainability.ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement cloud infrastructure via IaC across client-specific environments (AWS, GCP, and others as needed)Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines standardized across projectsImplement observability across infrastructure and AI systems: monitoring, logging, alerting, and guardrails for LLM-powered features, RAG pipelines, and fine-tuned modelsImplement security, secrets management, and compliance patterns reusable across projectsRun evaluation pipelines and surface results to the AI engineering team: flag regressions and degradation in model behavior, cost, and latencyMaintain a shared registry of models, datasets, and data sources across projects — versioned, documented, and accessible to the teamContribute application code and debug across the stack when the team needs itMonitor and minimize costs of infrastructure and model inferenceIdentify opportunities to templatize infrastructure patterns for reuse across projectsTrain engineers and clients to operate the platforms and infrastructure you deliver, and document for handoffI am one dozenSkillsCan architect a system from scratch when the problem isn't fully defined, and see it through to public releaseKnow what is good enough for a prototype vs. an MVP vs. a product that scales—and have experience with all threeHave built real evaluation suites for AI/ML systemsFind reliability, monitoring, and evals interesting rather than an afterthoughtHave experience on small teams with broad responsibilityCollaborate well with people across disciplines and organizationsWant your work to do something that mattersCompany OverviewOde is a mission-driven AI and creative technology company built to tackle complexity.
