[Remote] AI Automation Engineer

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Carestream Dental is building an AI-powered automation function across three companies from the ground up. As the first AI Automation Lead, you will define the stack, set standards, and build foundational systems while working closely with the VP of AI to translate strategy into operational agents and integrations.ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop AI agents across both pro-code and no-code platforms (Claude, Glean, Kore AI)Define and document repeatable automation patterns that work across all three companiesIntegrate AI platforms (Claude, Agentforce etc) with existing business tools via MCPs and APIsWrite Python scripts to handle complex integrations, data transformations, and edge casesLead technical decision-making around tooling, platforms, and architectureWork directly with the VP of AI to review agent performance and guide workflow designSkills2–4 years in automation, agentic development, AI integration, or a similar technical roleExperience with developing RAG pipelines and implementing vector databasesHands-on experience with at least one no-code automation platformComfort with ambiguity — you build before the blueprint is completePython proficiency — agentic development, scripting, API calls, data handling, debuggingStrong communicator who can explain technical decisions clearlyExperience connecting third-party platforms via REST APIsSelf-directed and outcome-focused — you finish what you startExperience with YAMLExperience building voice agents in platforms like Bland, Retell, or ElevenLabsExposure to customer-facing automation or SaaS product workflowsExperience with LLM fine-tuning conceptsExperience with traditional machine learning techniques like gradient boosting, k-NN, and regressionBenefitsMinimal travel requiredBased in Guadalajara with fully remote flexibility and autonomyCompany OverviewCarestream Dental provides imaging, CAD/CAM, software and practice management solutions for dental and oral health professionals.
