[Remote] Accounting & Internal Controls Manager

Connexa Search Group is a growing organization seeking an Accounting & Internal Controls Manager to lead key areas of financial reporting, accounting operations, internal controls, and audit support. The role involves overseeing accounting close and reporting activities, managing a small accounting team, and collaborating with internal stakeholders and external auditors.ResponsibilitiesLead and support key monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close activitiesReview journal entries, account reconciliations, schedules, and supporting documentationAnalyze financial results, research variances, and communicate findings to leadershipManage and develop a small accounting teamSupport complex accounting areas, including estimates, valuations, technical accounting matters, and financial reporting analysisLead internal control documentation, risk assessment, control mapping, and ongoing control evaluationIdentify control gaps, recommend improvements, and help implement remediation plansCoordinate SOC 1 audit activities, including working with internal process owners and external audit teamsPartner with external auditors on financial statement audit requests and related reporting mattersMonitor relevant accounting guidance and assess the impact of new or changing standardsSupport system enhancements, automation projects, and process improvement initiativesHelp strengthen the overall accounting, reporting, and control environment as the business continues to scaleSkillsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field requiredCPA required5+ years of progressive accounting experienceStrong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, and audit requirementsExperience with internal controls over financial reporting, control testing, process documentation, or SOC 1/SOX-related environmentsAbility to work through complex accounting areas and communicate findings clearlyPrior people management or team leadership experience preferredPublic accounting experience strongly preferredCompany [email protected] 864-900-5271 The Connexa Search Group is a privately owned, nationwide recruiting firm specializing in legal, accounting, finance, tax, HR, sales, purchasing, and supply chain roles.
