[Remote] Account Manager - Northeast Area Sales/New Business Development

The Account Manager will be responsible for outside sales and new business development, maintaining existing accounts, and creating value propositions to enhance customer satisfaction.ResponsibilitiesCommunicates with existing customers and manages accounts to ensure customer satisfactionMaintains existing business by developing and presenting value propositions to existing customersPartners with colleagues in functional areas, including, but not limited to, Production, Customer Service, Accounts Receivable, and Logistics, in order to provide the best customer service possibleInteracts with and assists sales managers and/or directors to achieve sales goalsCreates detailed price quotesCreates and delivers presentations to internal and external customers, along with samples and prototypesCompletes and updates sales-related paperwork and reporting systemsMaintains relationships with plants that service customers in the assigned territory, product area, or accountsMay solicit requests for quotesMay execute re-pricing action for underperforming accounts when necessaryMay interface with plants to determine lost and new customer opportunities (e.g., customer segment, value propositions)Performs other duties as assignedSkillsTypically possesses a Bachelor's degree and 8 plus years of experienceA true Road Warrior—comfortable with frequent local and overnight travel to engage clients in the assigned northeast territoriesA hunter mindset—proactive in seeking out and securing new businessProven track record of success in business development or salesStrong negotiation and communication skillsAbility to work independently and deliver resultsPossesses solid sales experience; industrial packaging sales experience is a plusDemonstrates excellent written and oral communication skillsDemonstrates excellent interpersonal skillsPossesses excellent time management and planning skillsPossesses analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to perform cold customer calls and follow up on leadsDemonstrated negotiation skillsLocal and overnight travel will be requiredIndustrial packaging experience is a plusBenefitsMedicalDentalPaid time offOther competitive benefits which are available for eligible colleagues effective day oneCompany OverviewGreif is an industrial packaging products and services.
