Fabric Assistant

The Fabric Assistant will research, source, and develop fabrics that align with the brand's aesthetic while ensuring quality, cost, and performance requirements are met.ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with Fabric Manager and Sr Director in researching new seasonal fabrics appropriate for the J.Jill aesthetic, quality metrics, IMU and ESG goals. Participate in cascading fabric trend direction to Mills, overseas Agents and DesignWork with Design and Fabric Manager on seasonal fabric selections and manage the development process for specific departments from seasonal concept launch (research) to line adoption (fabric finalization/booking)Maintain and organize the fabric library on a seasonal and ongoing basis. Create and maintain materials in PLMCreate, manage and update seasonal fabric charts for overseas offices and internal J.Jill partners. Communicate with mills and agents regarding fabric inquiries, reviewing the accuracy of fabric information received from overseas offices, and ensuring that information is received in a timely manner within seasonal deadlinesCollaborate with Product Development & Design on garment costing as pertains to garment fabric cost.
