Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Verdesian Life Sciences is seeking an individual for the remote Account Manager, Sales role in IL. The Account Manager will be responsible for growing the retail customer base, onboarding new retail partners, and providing product training while developing business plans and collaborating with various departments to align product development with customer needs.ResponsibilitiesDrive business growth in assigned region calling on and building business with new retailers, establishing a recurring book of business, to achieve territory revenue and profit targetsOwn the entire sales cycle from cold calling and initial retailer engagement to selling products and managing the retailerMaintain a high level of product knowledge & develop strong relationships to become a consultant with prospective/acquired retailers overcoming market challenges and positioning the value of Verdesian productsDevelop business plans to strategically target retailers in assigned territory forecasting future sales and budgetsLeverage and execute lead generation campaigns and research trials as appropriateStructure weekly/monthly sales efforts to achieve business plans and territory targetAnticipate retailers and territory needs regularly engaging marketing, customer service, and other departments to share market trends and prepare for future territory growthUnderstand and deploy a working knowledge of EPA and state regulationsFacilitate business relationships contributing to public relationsOther Account Manager duties not listed above as requiredSkillsInterest & belief in the importance of nutrient use efficiencyMinimum work experience of 5 years full-time exempt sales experience in Agriculture industryStrong communication (both written and verbal) and presentation skillsProven ability to develop deep working relationshipsAbility to clearly articulate key product benefits and selling points based on retailer needsProven persuasion and negotiation skillsEffective time management and organization skills to succeed in fast-paced environmentProven track record in business-to-business sales environmentAbility to work with and establish rapport with Chemical Fertilizer Dealership Staff, Certified Crop Advisors, and Independent Crop ConsultantsAbility to interface and engage with academic arenasEfficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) & CRM systemsMaintain a clean driving record with ability to travel long distancesExperience selling inoculants, fertilizer enhancers, and/or micronutrients a plusPreferred education of BA or BS degree in Agriculture related fieldExperience in lead generation and qualification a plusStrong understanding of biological technologies as related to agriculture a plusCompany OverviewNutritional Catalysts, Seed Inoculants/Treatments and Plant Health Technologies It was founded in 2012, and is headquartered in Cary, North Carolina, USA, with a workforce of 201-500 employees.
