Regional Admissions Counselor - Dallas and East TX Area

About the position The Regional Admissions Counselor for Lamar University is responsible for recruiting prospective students in the Dallas and East Texas area. This remote position focuses on promoting university programs, providing pre-admission advisement, and facilitating the enrollment process to meet recruitment goals. The counselor will engage with students, families, and educational institutions to enhance awareness and interest in Lamar University. Responsibilities • Recruit prospective freshman students by providing accurate and timely pre-admission advisement. • Facilitate the pre-admission, conversion, admission, and enrollment process using various sales methods and recruitment strategies. • Attend events and make presentations to communicate with prospective students and their parents. • Implement recruitment planning and strategies for assigned territories based on managed yield data. • Assist prospective students and families with the ApplyTexas Application, FAFSA, and other pre-college preparation requirements. • Train and mentor new Admissions Counselors throughout their first recruitment cycle. • Work directly with area high schools, technical centers, and businesses to prepare students for college. • Attend and assist in mandatory recruitment events both on-campus and off-campus. Requirements • Bachelor's Degree or a combination of college credit and applicable higher education experience while pursuing a bachelor's degree. • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation that meets state legal requirements. Nice-to-haves • Bilingual (English and Spanish). • Experience recruiting varied student populations including low socioeconomic, first generation, and other underrepresented groups. • Sales experience and familiarity with customer relationship management systems (CRMs).
