Recruitment Assistant
Chapman and Cutler LLP is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Recruiting Assistant to join the Talent Development Department in their Chicago office. The Recruiting Assistant will coordinate all processes involved in recruiting new professional staff and attorneys, while providing support and maintaining communication with candidates and hiring managers. Responsibilities Assists with staff recruiting tasks throughout the recruiting lifecycle, including liaising with hiring managers, posting openings on internal and external sites, identifying potential candidates, liaising with and screening candidates, scheduling candidates for interviews, coordinating travel expense reimbursement of candidates, preparing offer letters, coordinating preboarding efforts, and updating the recruiting database accordingly Acts as a representative of the firm and an initial point of contact for staff, lateral attorney, summer associate, and incoming associate candidates via phone, email, and in-person interactions Assists with the organization, planning, and execution of internal and external firm recruiting events, including booking conference rooms, ordering catering, working with outside vendors, and attending events; assists in fostering attorney attendance at these events Assists with both undergraduate and law student recruiting, including scheduling callback interviews, greeting candidates, coordinating travel expense reimbursement of candidates, handling offer gifts, and planning on-campus events Tracks and completes data entry of and responses to new applicants in the applicant tracking system Responsible for departmental filing, maintaining administrative files, updating standard operating procedures, and maintaining frequently used forms and documents Conducts office tours as needed for new hire orientation Performs all other duties as assigned, including providing back-up coverage for other Talent Development positions when needed Skills Bachelor's Degree (preferred) or an Associate's degree plus additional Recruiting or Human Resources experience Zero (0) to three (3) years of prior experience in a professional environment; preference given to those with prior law firm experience Proficiency working with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Functions effectively in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing, managing and meeting deadlines Superior organizational and proofreading skills; detail oriented Works well under pressure and is an excellent problem-solver Thrives in a team-oriented environment, is self-motivated, and willingly takes initiative and offers assistance Committed to a high level of client/customer service Exercises excellent judgment and integrity; professional demeanor and discretion required Committed to following all Firm policies and information security protocols Must be available to work outside of normal business hours and to work overtime during student recruiting season, callback interview season, the Summer Associate Program and other times as requested Company Overview Chapman is a law firm focused on finance.
