The Quality Assurance Nurse is also responsible for the development and management of the organization’s quality initiatives and improvement. In this role you will be responsible for: Creating organizational awareness of regulatory compliance Communicating significant findings, problems, & changes related to compliance standards & regulations to the Chief Clinical Officer and other personnel Reviewing Start of Care (SOC) assessments for thoroughness and accuracy – apply diagnosis codes applicable to the patient’s condition and disease process using ICD-10 coding guidelines and regulations. Processing re-certifications, death visits and adding orders according to hospice regulations and guidelines in a timely and efficient manner Assisting with tracking to ensure timely billing and meeting regulatory guidelines Audit medical records Managing workflow, identifying problematic sequencing and providing solutions to avoid impact on patient care activities Assuring clinical notes indicate continuing communication and coordination of services with the physician, other staff and disciplines Writing orders to ensure staff are available for end of life care Assisting in the development and design of the QAPI program Required Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Diploma, Associate or Baccalaureate School of Nursing Current State License as a Registered Nurse Minimum 3 years of health care management and 2 years of hospice care experience Demonstrated interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively Exhibits working knowledge of regulations and reimbursement in home health care Proven leadership abilities in staff education Willing to develop new critical thinking skills ICD10 coding certification required within one year of hire (preferred at time of hire) Desired Qualifications BA/BSN preferred Quality assurance experience preferred Microsoft Office skills preferred Location This is a remote opportunity for those living in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Mississippi, or Texas only Hours Per diem hours based on departmental needs and agreement with the supervisor Pay Range $36 — $42 USD Background Screening Optimal Care conducts a background screening upon acceptance of a contingent job offer.
