The new European Technology Centre in Portugal has a mission to be part of the global team that develops our core technology solutions, but it is also in a great location to support our NielsenIQ European business.Job DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior QA Automation Engineer to join our Technology Center in Portugal. You will join a local team that is part of a wider international development team spanning the US, Portugal, and India. On this role you’ll be contributing to the quality assurance of our core market research application, but you’ll also have the opportunity to help us developing our global QA practice.Join us and play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest quality standards for our innovative products, while working in a dynamic and collaborative global environment.What you’ll doResponsible for the Product Quality of Major features & Minor Releases.Understand requirements and scopeIdentify inconsistencies and gaps in requirements and communicate with Product OwnerServe as a Quality Assurance Engineer on teams that will execute projects from beginning to end, including working with product management, gathering requirements, brainstorming solutions, testing final applicationsMaintain knowledge of the architecture of the platform and product featuresMaintain complete functional knowledge of the productCreate and execute manual functional test casesIdentify test cases for automation & discuss most efficient type of automation for identified casesDesign, Create and Execute automated functional test casesDesign, Create and Execute automated non-functional test cases (performance, Resiliency, Guardrails, Backwards compatibility)Log defects and co-ordinate with developers to resolve themSetup and maintain test dataProvide end-user perspective for feature under testWork closely with other teams for cross functional requirements and collaborationParticipate in design and code reviewsAddress areas of improvements in the automation framework and workflowsIdentify and implement QA processes in support of providing quality products.Educate new hires and team members on application, tools, technologies, processesFollow community best practices and team SDLC guidelinesWe’re looking for people who haveAccountable - Always executes at a high level regardless of undertakingAnalytical - Examines multiple sources of information to assess problems/opportunitiesCreative - Explores multiple, different, new and unfamiliar approaches as potential solutionsCustomer Focused - Listens and asks questions to understand customer needs and evaluate situationCollaborative - Openly and proactively shares perspectives and challenges ideasCommunication skills - Effective oral and written communicationDetail OrientedLearning business and technical subject matterShows initiativeIn-team influencing abilityCultivates initiative in team matesQualifications3 to 5 years of QA automation experienceMS/BS in Software Engineering or related disciplineTechnical skills:Hands on experience in test automation tools like Playwright, Selenium or ProtractorKnowledge in at least one programming language or scripting languagesExperience with Object-Oriented design and developmentStrong test validation and test debugging skillsStrong understanding of Software Quality Assurance (SQA) concepts and practices to continually assess the risks and quality of products and releases.Experience with Web-application/Cross browser testingExperience of Database testingExperience working with Cloud based applications is nice to haveExperience working in onshore-offshore modelFamiliarity working in Agile-Scrum environment and software production release processExcellent interpersonal skills, excellentAdditional InformationABOUT NIELSEN We’re in tune with what the world is watching, buying, and everything in between.
