Property Damage Adjuster (Remote)
About the position
Responsible for the investigation, evaluation, negotiation and disposal of all assigned, insured and claimant, auto property damage claims, including suits, pursuant to Regulation 64.
Responsibilities
ā¢ Initiate the relevant investigation required upon receipt of new losses
ā¢ Obtain statements from all parties involved, either written or verbal
ā¢ Make coverage and liability determinations based on appropriate investigation
ā¢ Ensure proper evaluation, valuation of damages, and reserving of assigned claims
ā¢ Review estimates, complete total loss valuations
ā¢ Handle property damage related subrogation matters
ā¢ Negotiate with insureds and claimants, or their legal representatives
ā¢ Communicate with all clients to achieve optimal customer satisfaction while in compliance with Regulation 64
ā¢ Document all activities on the claims notepad
ā¢ Maintain a diary on all files
ā¢ Adhere to HIC policy and procedures
ā¢ Follow supervisory instruction
Requirements
ā¢ Proficient in Regulation 64 and the Vehicle and Traffic Laws (VTL).
ā¢ Understand liability, comparative negligence and how to apply it.
ā¢ Strong negotiation skills.
ā¢ Proficient in handling auto property damage claims.
ā¢ One-year experience investigating and negotiating comparative negligence auto property damage claims.
ā¢ Computer literacy.
ā¢ Must be a New York State resident.
