Responsibilities
ā¢ Design, implement, and refine 3D game and simulation features using Panda3D
ā¢ Develop custom tools and gameplay systems that enable flexible scripting and system control
ā¢ Collaborate with developers, artists, and researchers to translate requirements into maintainable code
ā¢ Optimize performance across diverse hardware and deployment environments
ā¢ Contribute to all phases of development from prototyping to release and ongoing maintenance
ā¢ Communicate technical concepts clearly in written and verbal formats
ā¢ Stay current on Panda3D advancements and development best practices
Skills
ā¢ Hands-on experience with Panda3D for interactive 3D application or game development
ā¢ Proficiency in Python or C++ for scripting, gameplay logic, and tool development
ā¢ Strong understanding of 3D graphics concepts, game loops, and simulation architectures
ā¢ Ability to build adaptable systems and tools for varied use cases
ā¢ Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong collaboration ability
ā¢ Ability to work autonomously in a remote, distributed environment
ā¢ Track record of delivering high-quality code and creative 3D solutions
ā¢ Experience developing 3D applications for research, simulation, or indie game production
ā¢ Familiarity with agile methodologies and version control systems such as Git
ā¢ Involvement in the Panda3D or open-source development communities
