Key Responsibilities
• Review and edit manuscripts for grammar, punctuation, spelling, and style consistency.
• Ensure clarity, coherence, and flow in all written content, including marketing materials, guides, and author communications.
• Verify the accuracy of technical terms and industry-specific language within manuscripts.
• Collaborate with authors and the editorial team to provide constructive feedback and suggestions for improvement.
• Maintain a consistent editorial style in line with IngramSpark’s guidelines and best practices.
• Assist in the development of editorial resources and tools to support authors in the publishing process.
Qualifications
• Proven experience in proofreading and editing, preferably in the publishing industry.
• Strong understanding of grammar, punctuation, and style guides (e.g., Chicago Manual of Style).
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently under tight deadlines.
• Familiarity with the self-publishing landscape and the needs of independent authors is a plus.
Work Schedule
• This is a part-time position with flexible hours, requiring approximately 15-20 hours per week.
• Remote work is available, but candidates must be able to meet deadlines consistently.
