Position Overview:
Our By Light team, the premier providers of innovative Information Technology (IT) services and communications support to the Department of Defense and Federal Agencies, is growing. We’re increasing our team to support the US Army Comprehensive Modernization (COMPMOD) program. The program delivers end-to-end EFIS&T services—including survey and design through installation, security, and testing. This work spans NIPR and SIPR networks, Wi-Fi, VoIP, ISP/OSP infrastructure, and voice modernization across all CONUS Army installations. We have an opening for a Project Manager. The functions of this position and responsibilities include elements such as: responsible for the overall direction, management, communication, coordination of deliverables, and accountability of project oriented work efforts and success of their projects across the IT organization; create scope documents based on approved charters and project plans (work breakdown structures); track key milestones and adjust project plans, budget requests and/or resources to meet the needs of customers. #compmod
Responsibilities:
Reports directly to the Task Order ManagerProviding Project Management support, to include developing and maintaining integrated master schedules, creating and submitting program related documentation, preparing and presenting briefings, providing full conference/meeting support, and preparing senior level strategic briefings and metrics as required by the GovernmentSupporting all aspects of the development and implementation of IT services projectsProviding analysis and recommendations in support of the resolution of IT-related problems; executing the recommendations as directed by the client.Aiding in the coordination of activities and documents to ensure alignment with plans and directives for delivery of IT solutionsOverall daily responsibility for the delivery of all work products and services on this program, to include technical artifacts, reports, presentations and briefings to the clientManages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management, planning and project teamOversees the status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reportsMonitors the assessment of project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectivesEnsures the development of mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, project team and clientsEnsures production schedules are met or exceededEnsures engineering & technical resources are used effectively and appropriately.Coordinates resolution of deliverable-related problemsEnsures proper relationships are established between customers, teaming partners and vendors to facilitate the delivery of information technology services and deliverablesPrioritize efforts to ensure successful client outcomeUses strong planning and organizational skills to ensure timely completion of all milestones and efforts with minimal client disruptionProvides proactive and responsive customer focused leadership, reaching back to corporate resources to mitigate risks and resolve any issues that may arise
Required Experience/Qualifications:
High School Diploma requiredCertified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) required within 6 months of start dateAt least 5 years relevant Project Management experience across the entire project life cycleExcellent leadership skills (leading teams of more than 10 personnel)Experience managing projects across multiple locations simultaneouslyRelated industry experience in information technology or engineeringWorking knowledge Microsoft Office Tools; specifically Excel and ProjectExcellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Experience/Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or higher is desired but not requiredDegree in business, engineering, computer science, or information technology management or technical disciplineExperience working with the ArmyField Services experience
Special Requirements/Security Clearance:
Active Secret Clearance or ability to obtain and maintainTravel: 80% travel
Physical Demands:
Ability to type, communicate via telephone, visit multiple sites daily, inspect, and document locations for future installations.Ability to lift 30 lbs and work in confined spaces
