Northwestern University is seeking a Program Coordinator for its undergraduate chemistry program. This role provides administrative and operational support, manages course administration, and serves as a primary point of contact for undergraduate students, ensuring effective program delivery and an excellent student experience.ResponsibilitiesManages the day-to-day administrative operations of the undergraduate chemistry programSupports course scheduling, classroom assignments, and enrollment management through university systems such as CLSS, CAESAR, and CanvasMaintains major and minor records, manages program databases, compiles program data, and prepares reportsSupports student organization programming and activitiesProvides administrative support for teaching faculty, particularly for introductory and intermediate undergraduate chemistry coursesCoordinates course administration including Canvas course sites, grading support, exam logistics, and classroom coordinationAssists faculty with course materials, evaluations, and student communicationsCoordinates placement and assessment activities for incoming students and manages administration of the department’s Initial Assessment and Placement ExamServes as a primary contact for undergraduate students enrolled in chemistry coursesTroubleshoots student issues with instructional platforms including Canvas, CAESAR, Crowdmark, and iClickerCommunicates program information and supports student access to course materials and resourcesPerforms other duties as assignedSkillsSuccessful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's degree or higher; OR appropriate combination of education and experience1 year program/project administration or other relevant experienceWorking knowledge of Caesar, CLSS, Canvas or equivalent systemsWorking knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, & OutlookStrong communication skills and a commitment to customer serviceAbility to work, support and maintain a productive, collaborative, and continuous relationship with colleagues across the Department of Chemistry and Weinberg College of Arts and SciencesAt least 2 years of program administration or similar experienceExperience providing administrative support to faculty or academic programsExperience working with academic or student information systemsBenefitsMeaningful, competitive, high-quality health care plansRetirement benefitsTuition discountsComprehensive programs and services to help you and your family navigate life’s challenges and opportunitiesFlexible work arrangementsPrograms to help you locate and pay for quality, affordable childcare and senior/adult careEmployee career developmentTools and resources for developing your professional potential or continuing your formal educationCompany OverviewNorthwestern University is a private research and teaching university that offers academic programs across various fields of study.
