Power Systems Research Scientist

They are seeking a Power Systems Research Scientist to conduct research in power system analysis, focusing on both distribution and transmission systems, while collaborating with various partners and publishing research findings. Responsibilities Conduct research in power system analysis, focusing on both distribution and transmission Collaborate with internal and external cross-functional teams, including utility partners, academic institutions, and government agencies Publish research findings in peer-reviewed paper/journal Skills Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or any other related degree with 1-3 years of experiences in power system Demonstrated expertise in both distribution and transmission system analysis Proficiency in Python is a must Knowledge of transmission analysis such as power flow, stability, and contingency analysis is preferred Knowledge of economic analysis preferred Knowledge of distribution power flow analytics, nature of electrical loads is preferred Knowledge of smart grid technologies, microgrids, DER management, and control systems is preferred Proficiency in AI/ML algorithm development is preferred Familiar with power system simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, OpenDSS, PSSE, or GridLAB-D is preferred Benefits Employees are eligible to participate in Hitachi America’s variable pay program, subject to the program’s conditions and restrictions.
