Postdoctoral Researcher, Computer Vision – AI/ML Radiology – Oncology
Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher in Computer Vision with a focus on AI/ML applications in Radiology and Oncology. The role involves developing and validating models using real-world imaging datasets to influence cancer therapy development, while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.ResponsibilitiesConceive, develop, and implement analytics and AI/Machine learning radiology solutions to high-priority scientific problemsParticipate in cross-functional collaborations with external companies and internal scientific, clinical, and data science teamsShape internal/external collaborations and define the scope of research questionsExtract insight from complex, unstructured radiology image or other imaging modalities data to enhance decision making in clinical development of cancer therapy (e.g., tumor characterization, outcome prediction, etc.)Clearly articulate highly technical methods and results to diverse audiences and partners to drive decision-makingSkillsPh.D. degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., artificial intelligence, computer science, applied mathematics, electrical engineering, or similar), or closely related field, completed within the past 3 years, or to be completed within the next 6 monthsProficiency in radiology imaging modalities such as CT, PET, MRI, etcDemonstrated experience driving research in and applying Computer Vision techniques, such as Foundation models, Transformers, CNNs, Diffusion models, RNNs, GANs, and radiomicsExtensive experience with traditional Computer Vision applications, such as OpenCV, object detection, edge detection, image segmentationExtensive hands-on experience with medical imaging modalities and formats (e.g., DICOM, nrrd, nifti) and collaborating with subject matter expertsProficiency with one or more programming languages such as Python or C++Strong publication record and ability to effectively communicate technical work to a wide audienceExperience applying Radiology AI/ML in clinical settingsExposure to oncology, preferably solid tumors such as lung cancerHands-on technical data analysis, cloud computing (AWS, Azure), dockerizationFamiliarity with and exposure to drug discovery and clinical development processesExperience working closely with healthcare professionalsBenefitsMedicalDentalVisionLife insuranceShort- and long-term disabilityBusiness accident insuranceGroup legal insuranceConsolidated retirement plan (pension)Savings plan (401(k))Vacation – up to 120 hours per calendar yearSick time - up to 40 hours per calendar yearHoliday pay, including Floating Holidays – up to 13 days per calendar year of WorkPersonal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar yearCompany OverviewJohnson and Johnson Innovative Medicine focuses on developing medical solutions for some of the challenging diseases and medical conditions.
