Postdoctoral Associate
The George Washington University Institute for Data, Democracy and Politics (IDDP) seeks exceptional candidates for a full-time, academic research position at the rank of post-doctoral fellow. The postdoctoral associate will work on topics related to misinformation, persuasion, and political psychology, contributing to rigorous, evidence-based research that advances democratic values.ResponsibilitiesParticipate in the planning of independent researchAnalyze and interpret dataPublish resultsRepresent the university at conferences and meetingsDevelop new theories and methodologiesCollaborate with affiliated researchers and faculty pursuing more narrowly specified projectsConceptualize, design and analyze behavioral social science research related to IDDP’s missionPerform other related duties as assignedSkillsApplicants must have fulfilled all requirements for the award of a PhD or equivalent qualification in a relevant field by the date of employmentDeep expertise in behavioral approaches to social science, including but not limited to the design and analysis of experimentsIntimately familiar with sophisticated analytic tools and will have a demonstrated record of their useExtensive professional experience using R, Python or similar tools are a key requirement for the positionShow potential to excel in tasks related to behavioral social science researchCollaborate with affiliated researchers and faculty pursuing more narrowly specified projects in addition to the pursuit of individual project interestsConceptualize, design and analyze behavioral social science research related to IDDP's missionPerforms other related duties as assigned.
