Plant Engineer - Mechanical - Manpower - Baton Rouge, LA - work from home job Company: Manpower Job description: Our client, a leading supplier of methanol, is seeking a remote Mechanical Plant Engineer. You’ll ensure the safety and reliability of operations. Your expertise will be utilized in conducting hazard and risk reviews, participating in HAZOPs and similar risk assessments, and overseeing reliability reviews for project designs. Additionally, you will support site project leads, ensure compliance with drawing office procedures and standards, and provide valuable mechanical engineering services to support plant Operations and Maintenance. Job Title: Mechanical Plant Engineer Location: Remote Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k About the Role: • Evaluate and address all mechanical and piping issues, including small modifications, troubleshooting, and OPEX projects at the Geismar facility from a technical and engineering perspective. • Integrate mechanical and piping project functions efficiently across relevant work groups. • Develop scopes of work for mechanical and piping OPEX modifications following the global Management of Change (MOC) process. • Collaborate effectively with the Maintenance Department to assess and troubleshoot static and rotative equipment and other mechanical-related issues. • Provide mechanical and piping engineering services, contribute to design approval processes for OPEX projects and modifications, and ensure compliance with statutory requirements and appropriate standards. Requirements: • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution required. • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a Mechanical Engineering role. • Strong understanding of mechanical/piping engineering and design in a Petrochemical environment. • Knowledge of the Oil & Gas, Refining, and/or Petrochemical industry, along with familiarity with API, ASME, and ANSI standards. • Demonstrated experience in project management fundamentals, leading design, installation, and testing efforts on dynamic systems, and exposure to typical mechanical procedures including welding, machining, and assembly.
