Planning & Scheduling Engineer II
About the Role The Planning & Scheduling Engineer II is responsible for developing, monitoring, and controlling project schedules across full EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation) project lifecycles. This role supports both onshore and offshore projects and may lead planning activities for small-scale engineering scopes. This position plays a key role in ensuring project timelines are achievable, risks are mitigated, and project performance is accurately tracked and reported. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain project schedules aligned with execution strategies Define project timelines, resource requirements, and critical paths Establish planning and scheduling systems, including methods, procedures, and reporting tools Monitor project progress, identify delays, and recommend corrective actions Support schedule baseline approvals, milestone tracking, and progress validation with clients Conduct forecasting to ensure reliability of project timelines Perform Earned Value Analysis (EVA) and track key performance indicators (KPIs) Assess schedule impacts from changes and support Extension of Time (EOT) analysis Optimize resource allocation across Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Installation (EPCI) phases Collaborate with proposal and estimation teams to define realistic project durations Develop project breakdown structures (PBS/WBS) Promote awareness of key milestones and schedule drivers across project teams Capture lessons learned and contribute to continuous improvement of planning processes Support or mentor junior team members on small to mid-sized projects Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field Moderate experience in project execution within EPC/EPCI environments Proficiency in scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera P6) Strong understanding of project control systems, progress measurement, Earned Value Management (EVM), and KPI reporting Familiarity with Schedule Risk Analysis and Extension of Time (EOT) analysis Knowledge of EPCI work processes and sequencing Familiarity with Global Business Process Management Systems (GBPMS) is a plus Fluent in English Skills & Competencies Strong analytical and problem-solving skills High attention to detail and accuracy Ability to identify deviations and propose solutions Strong communication and presentation skills Ability to work cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders Key Interactions Internal: Planning team, Project teams, Proposal teams External: Clients, partners, vendors, subcontractors Additional Information May supervise or train junior staff on smaller projects. Works primarily in a Home Office environment supporting global project execution.
