As a Pharmacy Operations Associate, you will play a crucial role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy department, ensuring smooth workflow, and providing excellent customer service to patients and healthcare providers. Responsibilities:
• Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to patients, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders. Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and address concerns in a professional and courteous manner. Assist with prescription drop-offs, pickups, and inquiries at the pharmacy counter.
• Medication Dispensing: Assist pharmacists with medication dispensing tasks, including counting, measuring, and labeling medications accurately. Prepare prescription orders for pharmacist review and verification, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and quality standards.
• Inventory Management: Receive, stock, and organize pharmacy inventory, including prescription medications, over-the-counter products, and medical supplies. Monitor inventory levels, conduct regular inventory counts, and place orders for stock replenishment as needed.
• Prescription Processing: Assist with prescription processing tasks, such as data entry, prescription filling, and insurance verification. Verify patient information, medication orders, and insurance coverage to ensure accuracy and completeness of prescription orders.
• Pharmacy Compliance: Maintain compliance with pharmacy laws, regulations, and policies governing prescription drug dispensing and pharmacy operations. Adhere to HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to the pharmacy team, including scheduling appointments, processing paperwork, and maintaining accurate records. Assist with billing, insurance claims, and prior authorizations as needed.
• Quality Assurance: Participate in quality assurance activities, such as medication error reporting, medication safety checks, and quality improvement initiatives. Follow established protocols and procedures to promote medication safety and prevent errors.

Requirements:
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree or certification in pharmacy technology or a related field preferred.
• Experience: Previous experience in a pharmacy or healthcare setting preferred but not required. Familiarity with pharmacy operations, terminology, and procedures is a plus.
• Technical Skills: Basic computer skills, including proficiency with pharmacy software systems, data entry, and electronic communication. Ability to learn and use new software applications quickly.
• Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to interact professionally with patients, colleagues, and healthcare providers. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work.
• Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to collaborate with colleagues and contribute to the overall success of the pharmacy department.
