Performance Analytics Consultant

The Performance Analytics Consultant will support the Sales & Distribution team by executing reporting and analytics, contributing to data-driven decision making and revenue growth.ResponsibilitiesAnalyze key KPIs and performance trends, identifying meaningful shifts and diagnosing underlying causesSupport monthly routines for reporting and analyticsTackle ad-hoc questions with a clear understanding of the data as well as the business context and story, enabling data-driven decision making for our business partnersDevelop an understanding of Data Science solutions and other technologies that support and transform Sales and Distribution and Middle and Large UnderwritingPartner with and support Data Engineering professionals to ensure data quality and shared understanding of data assetsIndependently source, transform, and validate data using SQL; maintain proactive communication with engineering partners on data quality and structureIndependently execute on reoccurring routines as well as ad-hoc analytical/reporting-based requestsConduct analyses to identify meaningful patterns and insights, leveraging a number of different analytical techniques and toolsPresent insights and recommendations through polished PowerPoint materials tailored to varying technical and leadership levelsCombine and reconcile data from multiple sources, developing a strong understanding of Middle and Large data assets, lineage, and quality considerationsBuild trusted working relationships with Underwriting, Product, Actuarial, Claims, and Finance through reliable analysis, open communication, and consistent deliveryRespond to ad‑hoc analytical requests, providing clarity on definitions, methods, and drivers; offer guidance on KPI interpretation and visualization best practicesMaintain strong, clear documentation of work‑effort progress and analysis activitiesAdhere to and promote strong agile practicesSkillsWorking Proficiency in SQL, with experience in Snowflake and OracleWorking knowledge of Python for analytical and automation tasksKnowledge of Data Warehousing/Relational DatabasesStrong written and verbal communication skillsSelf‑motivated; can work independently and in teamsBachelor's degree required, preferably in Data Analytics, Statistics, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Business, or a related quantitative fieldExperience with visualization tools such as Power BI / Tableau, development experienceKnowledge of Generative and Agentic AI solutionsFamiliarity with Agile practicesBenefitsShort-term or annual bonusesLong-term incentivesOn-the-spot recognitionCompany OverviewThe Hartford is an industry leading provider of property and casualty insurance, group benefits and mutual funds.
