Payroll Analyst
Citi is a leading global bank, and they are seeking a Payroll Analyst to manage and resolve complex payroll and HR-related inquiries. The role involves end-to-end payroll processing, reconciliation, and providing exceptional customer service while ensuring compliance with regulations.ResponsibilitiesProcess end‑to‑end payroll activities, including payroll completion and settlement, within WorkdayPerform file balancing, payroll reconciliation, and detailed payroll reviews to ensure accuracy and complianceReconcile payroll and pay‑related data, ensuring alignment with business, regulatory, and audit requirementsResearch and resolve complex payroll issues, providing clear and accurate solutions to internal and external stakeholdersServe as a primary point of contact for employees, Human Resources, Finance, and external vendors regarding complex payroll, HR‑related, finance, and vendor inquiries and transactionsCommunicate effectively with customers on sensitive and critical pay‑related mattersManage multiple tasks concurrently while meeting established service‑level agreements (SLAs)Evaluate payroll data and business processes to identify discrepancies, risks, and improvement opportunitiesWorks with other team members on established projects and initiativesPerforms more complex tasks in support of the team manager and area projects as assignedWorks under little to no direct supervision and supports an expansive and/or diverse array of products/servicesCoaches and trains more junior payroll specialistsAppropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparencySkills1-3 years relevant payroll experienceStrong working knowledge of North America (NAM) payroll processingDemonstrated analytical, critical‑thinking, and problem‑solving skills with the ability to interpret and evaluate complex payroll dataProven ability to work efficiently and accurately in a deadline‑driven environmentExcellent customer service skills with frequent professional telephone and email interactionHigh attention to detail and commitment to accuracyStrong communication skills, with the ability to address sensitive payroll matters confidently and professionallyBachelor's/University degree or equivalent experienceExperience with Workday payroll processing preferredPreferred Workday experienceBenefitsMedical, dental & vision coverage401(k)Life, accident, and disability insuranceWellness programsPaid time off packages, including planned time off (vacation), unplanned time off (sick leave), and paid holidaysCompany OverviewCiti's mission is to serve as a trusted partner to our clients by responsibly providing financial services that enable growth and economic progress.
