Paralegal
SCAN is a nonprofit health organization dedicated to improving care for older adults. The Paralegal position provides legal and administrative support to the Legal Department, assisting with drafting legal documents, project management, and maintaining organization within the department.ResponsibilitiesProvide support with drafting, proofreading, and editing of legal documents, including contracts and correspondenceServe as one of the contract management system administrators, utilizing the company contract management systemAssist with the preparation of materials for presentations, meetings, and legal proceedingsAssist with project management for Legal Department projectsMaintain matters organized by triaging priorities, monitoring and updating status, documenting actions, tracking deadlines, maintain logs, and preparing reportsContribute to the team effort by performing other tasks and general administrative support as neededCoordinate and prepare meetings with internal and external clients as need Responsibilities may include agenda preparation, virtual or physical room set up, and general logistics to ensure a smooth participation experienceExercise independent problem-solving techniques to resolve administrative problemsMaintain privacy and confidentiality of all mattersWork collaboratively with other departments and outside counselAccomplish organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishmentsAssist in the development or improvement of templates, department-wide business processes, and policies and proceduresActively support the achievement of SCAN’s Vision and GoalsOther duties as assignedSkills0-3 years of related experiencePerforms work under direct supervisionHandles basic issues and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher-level staffPossesses beginning to working knowledge of subject matterTechnical expertise - Strong technical skills for functional areaProblem Solving - Basic problem solving skillsCommunication - Good communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to understand and follow directionsOral and written communication skillsCustomer/client orientationUnderstanding of legal practicesBenefitsAn annual employee bonus programRobust Wellness ProgramGenerous paid-time-off (PTO) along with 11 paid holidays per year, 1 floating holiday, birthday off, and 2 volunteer daysExcellent 401(k) Retirement Saving Plan with employer matchRobust employee recognition programTuition reimbursementCompany OverviewAbout SCAN Keeping Seniors Healthy and Independent–that’s been our mission for more than 40 years.
