Oral History Fellow (Maine)

The oral history fellow will be our on-the-ground point person for the Maine portion of the Out in the Open Oral History Project. They will be responsible for outreach, scheduling, logistics, tech, interviews, transcription, file management, data organization, and general support of the oral history project.
The oral history fellow will work closely with the oral history project director and the executive director. They will work as part of a small collaborative staff team, including staff, contractors, and program participants who live elsewhere in the region, contributing to building a powerful movement of rural LGBTQ+ people. This is a part time role, at 20 hours per week.
Out in the Open connects rural LGBTQ+ people to build community, visibility, knowledge and power. We are a multiracial, majority working class, grassroots, movement and capacity building organization based in Wabanaki territory throughout the states of Vermont and Maine.
Out in the Open is also hiring a Movement Building Coordinator in eastern Wabanaki territory/ Maine. It is possible to combine these roles into one full time position, so if you are interested in each Maine-based role, feel free to apply for both.
