Network Engineer

Overview TNS has an exciting opportunity for a Network Engineer. This position reports in to our Global Network Infrastructure Engineering Department. This role involves working on complex or server less complex components of network projects. Responsibilities Primary Duties and Responsibilities may include the following: Effectively contribute toward team goals Your influence will be at the work group and customer/user level Work beyond the routine nature of tasks, utilizing your specialized knowledge of technology Troubleshoot basic problems and recommend appropriate action Engineering, deployment, and support of the TNS Global IP backbone network Delivery of Ethernet based services, as defined by the Metro Ethernet Forum Routing protocol design and support (BGP, ISIS, EIGRP, OSPF, PIM) WAN/LAN topology design and support MPLS design and support Data Center design and support Load Balancer design and support Vendor/hardware assessment and recommendations Equipment/Design specifications in support of budgetary planning Qualifications Qualifications: 5+ yrs design and operations experience in large scale multiprotocol global IP/ISP networks 4+ years of experience and expert in TCP/IP and routing protocols (RSVP, LDP, BGP, ISIS, OSPF, PIM, BFD, and FRst Reroute technologies) 2+ years of experience with architecture and provisioning of MPLS networks and services including Traffic Engineering, Carrier Ethernet, MPLS L2 and L3 VPNs, VPLS, Circuit Emulation, IPSec, VPNs, IP Multicast, and QOS/COS 4+ years of experience in layer-2 Ethernet technologies 2+ years working knowledge of Data Center design and operation Expertise in current industry WAN technologies/products (SONET, SDH, TDM, Metro Ethernet, etc.) 4+ years of extensive hands-on experience with the configuration, debugging, and problem resolution of complex Cisco and/or Juniper based networks Experienced with command-line interFRces, and skilled in effective use of various network monitoring and analysis tools such as SolarWinds, SPLUNK, and similar tools Optional Desired Qualifications: IP Multicast Hands-on experience with Service Provider class Juniper and Cisco routers and switches Server Load-Balancing UNIX/Linux Experience Traffic Generator Experience Project Management Experience PERL programming and XML based management experience Education and Certifications: B.S. (or equivalent) in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering. MS preferred.
