Music Publishing & Label A&R Research Internship - Summer 2026
Maison Arts is a music publishing company and record label based in Los Angeles. Our publishing roster includes Suki Waterhouse, Bipolar Sunshine, ayokay, Medasin, John Mark Nelson, and more, and our label division, Maison Records, works with artists including Arc De Soleil, Nils Hoffmann, Mindchatter, PAMÉ, and Social House. We are seeking a Music Publishing & Label A&R Intern for Summer 2026 to support both our publishing and label teams across A&R research, creative development, and operations.
Duties Include:
A&R & Scouting
• Scouting unsigned artists and songwriters through social media platforms, DSPs, and analytics tools
• Sourcing unpublished artists, songwriters, and producers for the publishing roster
• Identifying and reporting on viral trends and track performance via TikTok, Instagram, and other platforms
• Gather press and news outlets to find new artists
• Monitoring key charts (Spotify Viral, Shazam, Soundcharts, etc.) and tracking emerging artist milestones internationally
• Identifying potential collaborators and remixers for artists across both the Maison Arts and Maison Records rosters
• Conducting competitive research to support signing, marketing, and distribution strategies
Creative & Publishing Operations
• Assisting the A&R team with song pitching for sync opportunities and artist placements
• Helping organize, tag, and maintain the publishing catalog in DISCO
• Assisting with pitch decks, artist one-sheets, and creative development documents
• Compiling show lists and creating one-sheets ahead of key meetings
• Assisting with newsletter creation with a focus on sync and release performance
• Supporting company social media by creating assets
• Helping keep the company website updated
• Attending team meetings, taking notes, and contributing creative ideas
Skills & Qualifications
• Currently enrolled in college (music business, communications, marketing, or related field)
• Passion for songwriting, publishing, the creative process, and artist discovery
• Deep understanding of social media, current music trends, and the music landscape across genres
• Strong research and organizational skills
• Basic understanding of publishing and copyright fundamentals
• Familiarity with PRO databases (ASCAP, BMI), Songview, and DISCO is a plus
• Familiarity with music data tools such as Chartmetric, ROSTR, and Indify is a plus
• Proficient in Google Suite; experience with Canva or Mailchimp is a bonus
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and a creative thinker
• Internship is based in LA, one day per week in office (Venice Beach) is required
