Summary of Position
Seeking a self motivated and detail oriented individual with excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills. Coding experience with ICD-9-CM, ICD-10 and CPT.
Job Duties:
ā¢ Provide effective communication (written, verbal, non-verbal, and electronic) to clients and colleagues
ā¢ Supports performance improvement by assisting with audits and quality control tasks
ā¢ Communicates any concerns regarding coding, documentation, section issues and/or department issues
ā¢ Shares information, resources, and ideas. Contributes ideas and suggestions to continuously improve processes, procedures, methods and productivity.
ā¢ Must demonstrate the ability to assign principal and secondary diagnoses, procedures and E&M codes
ā¢ Coders must maintain productivity & quality standards.
Qualifications:
ā¢ Extremely organized
ā¢ Attention to detail is a must
ā¢ At least 2 years of medical record practices and procedures, or successfully completed Medical Terminology
ā¢ Medical Record Technology, Anatomy, Medical Billing or Coding courses are preferred
ā¢ Inpatient & Outpatient Surgery coding experience preferred
ā¢ Must type at least 40 WPM
ā¢ Must be familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel
ā¢ CPC or CPC-A Credential
ā¢ 3+ years of Coding experience preferred
ā¢ Experience with One Content, Paragon and 3M desired
